New Solutions Proposition Regarding Server Architecture

Logistics industry

Analysis of Current Problems with Server Architecture

The client, a logistics company, operated a 15,000 m² warehouse with network cabinets containing active devices supporting wireless access points. Their server room featured redundant connections, backbone switches, and routers. However, budget-focused equipment selection created chronic stability problems, disrupting magazine scanner operations and causing frequent connection failures.

The Course of the Project

After examining the existing environment and documentation, the team developed multiple architectural alternatives and identified the most suitable option. The focus centred on proposing enterprise-grade equipment addressing the shortcomings of the current infrastructure.

Effect

Initially resistant to upgrading expensive infrastructure, the client accepted a comprehensive network improvement package including device replacement. The Infrastructure as a Service model utilised Huawei enterprise-class network equipment (L2, L3) with monitoring and maintenance services. This approach effectively resolved the problem without incurring high additional costs. Following implementation, network instability issues ceased entirely.
